In the ACT if you are purchasing a unit or apartment the seller doesn’t have to provide an inspection package unlike when they are selling a house.  Therefore,  it is in your best interests to obtain your own building inspection, and give yourself peace of mind.

A Building report ensures you that the property you are about to purchase has no major structural or major maintenance issues.  The building reports are carried out in accordance with the current Australian Standards A.4349.1. Property Works can provide two types of building inspections a standard or a special purpose.

Standard Building Inspection 

These reports include an inspection of all accessible areas of the property, including:    

• Structure & Footings
• Internal Finishes
• Roof Areas        
• Doors & Windows
• Subfloor Areas    
• Pergolas 
• External Finishes    
• Decking
• Retaining Walls &  Fences 
• Plumbing
• Driveways & Paths   
• Drainage & Wet areas
• External Structures

Special Purpose Building Inspection 

In addition to the above we further include an inspection of the following: 

• Electrical Applicances (eg. dishwashers, ovens, hot plates etc)
• Power points   
• Smoke detectors
• Air conditioners   
• Heating (not including fireplaces)
• Automatic roller doors  
• Paint finishes
• Floorcoverings   
• Exhaust fans
